About Brihadeeswarar Temple

Brihadeeswarar Temple is a Hindu temple committed to Master Shiva situated in Thanjavur in the Indian province of Tamil Nadu. It is otherwise called RajaRajeswara Temple Rajarajeswaram and Peruvudayar Temple. It is one of the biggest temples in India and is a case of Dravidian design amid the Chola period.Built by Raja Chola I and finished in 1010 CE, the temple turned 1000 years of age. The temple is a piece of the UNESCO World Legacy Site known as the "Incomparable Living Chola Temples", with the other two being the Brihadeeswarar Temple, Gangaikonda Cholapuram and Airavatesvara temple.
