Murgod is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India.It is located in the Saundatti taluk of Belgaum district in Karnataka.It is situated 491 km from our capital city Bangalore and 54 km from district headquarters Belagavi.

At the time of Mahabharata Murgod was called as Amarkalyan and Day by day name converted into Threeshigapura (in Kannada means Mooru koda) finally the name becomes Murgod. Murgod is the holy place for basava's saints and shiva devotees. Shri mahant Duradhundishwara math and Shri chidambara punya kshetra attracts devotees from across India.

Some other holy places in muragod are "Shri Mallikarjuna Temple" which is build as same as "Shrishail Mallikarjuna temple". Its ancient architecture is very attractive, "Pandavar Padi"(Pandavar Hill) There is myth that at time of mahabharath pandavas crossed through this village so that is called as "Pandavara Padi", "Siddappana Gavi"(Siddappa's Cave) when yadeyur siddalingeshwar came to this village they stayed in this cave.Three side of city is covered by hills, so it is very attractive for photographers and trekkers.

Other attractions around village are "Shri Kshetra Sogal", "Naveelathirth Dam Munavalli".
